Bookkeeping/Payroll Services
We provide all tracking, categorization, and reconciliation of your income and expenses. While we do not do annual Federal tax return preparation and filing, we provide to your accountant or tax preparer all the reports needed to file an accurate return. We can work in your already set up online accounting program, get you started with one, or we have our own Excel-based database to keep your books offline. Whatever platform we use to keep your books, you have access to the data at all times, and you own your data (we don't keep it if you decide to leave).
Other services: filing of city/county business tax forms, prompting when major items are due (county tax, annual reports, etc).
Payroll Services
We can provide affordable payroll services, to include calculating employment taxes, provide pay stubs to your employees on a portal, filing payroll tax returns, and paying your withholdings to federal and state governments. We'll give your employees a W-2 at the beginning of the year.
Expense Analysis and Cost Savings
We get to know your business intimately so we can recognize where you are making unnecessary expenditures and give you options on how you can cut overhead to increase your profits. Our passion is to streamline costs and help you achieve your business dreams!
We also give you flat monthly charges for our services, so there are no surprise large bills due to unknown work you don't know we bill you for (no offense to accounting firms, but they are notorious for this!).
Budgets
This is our special service, unique compared to almost all the bookkeeping/accounting industry! As small business owners ourselves, we know and understand how hard it is to keep a handle on overhead, plan for expenses, and be able to pay ourselves back personal business loans. Most business owners sacrifice paying themselves in order to pay employees or because you're just not making a profit yet. We help you set goals for savings and keep track for you a budget, so we can help you have funds for emergencies, pay yourself back or pay yourself a paycheck, and for future business improvements.
What's Expected of You
While we try to take all the pressure of tracking finances for you, our ability to keep your books depends on you providing us the information we need in a timely manner. You provide us with bank statements and all receipts (paper or digital copies), as well as access to any online accounts you require us to use for your finances. Your expectation is to be responsive to our communications and provide what we need in a timely manner.
What We Don't Provide
At this time, we do not complete or file annual tax returns. However, we partner with HB Ross &Co for this service. They provide quality returns at a flat, reasonable rate. We also partner with and recommend other CPA's if your company requires one.
Pricing
Our base price for bookkeeping is $200, but is calculated based on how complicated your business structure is (multiple income streams, multiple accounts and credit cards, etc cost more due to the amount of time required).
Goal setting, tracking, and budgeting is an additional $50 per month, plus an annual subscription cost for the budget app we use, YNAB. We get referral discounts so you can get a discount, and you will own the subscription and can cancel at any time. There is a one-time $100 set up fee.
Payroll services start at $80 per month up to 5 employees. Additional employees are $5 per employee.
Please contact us for a free consultation to get a quote on the monthly cost for your business.
Insurance/Liability Coverage
We are fully insured with Omissions and Errors liability coverage.
CPA vs Bookkeeper
Disclaimer: this is not meant to provide legal or financial advice !
Why use a bookkeeper instead of a CPA for your books? Bottom line: cost and necessity. Unless you are a very large, complicated corporation, you don't need a CPA to keep your books. CPA's can be three to four times the cost of a bookkeeper, and most accounting firms charge you by the hour and surprise you with extra bills that are not predictable, and what small business can operate that way? Bookkeepers have the same liability coverage and insurance as CPA's, and we usually charge a lower, flat rate for our services so you can always predict costs.
